R.I.P R2-D2! (click here for english version)

Aqui, no Brasil, tivemos a promoção Odyssey - Guerra Nas Estrelas.

ENGLISH:

Last week, precisely on 16/08/13 died actor Kenny Baker. Although his face is not well known by most, and I confess that I would not recognize him if I saw him on the street, Kenny played one of the most iconic characters in film history, R2-D2. Speaking of Star Wars is bringing out a lot of memories. One of my first electronic games before Ataris and Odyssey invade our country, it was a game type Game & Watch where the goal was to destroy AT-ATs. A quick googling led me to this link: www.handheldmuseum.com I think this is the game in question. Also we had mask of Darth Vader and the delicious stamps albums. I also had a miniature R2-D2. In those days, I was a frequent client of the hospital, I spent several days in the solitude of a room. In September 1979 or 1980, I won on my birthday that little little robot that was, for several days, my roommate We both seemed so small there. Time and carelessness caused my little friend disappeared, and now again. RIP Kenny Baker. t's funny to think that in the midst of this great fever Star Wars, our Odyssey was never awarded any series product. Here in Brazil, we had the Odyssey promotion - Star Wars. Thirty islands would be drawn to those who correctly answer the name of the creator of the Star Wars series, the draws take place in the days 15/02/1984 and 16/04/1984.

The internet has also brought some rumors about production of  series  games for our Odyssey, Confirming the story, we had a few years ago, the unexpected visit of Gil Williamson in Videopac Forum. Gil revealed that possibly in the game development it was "Ewok Adventure". To end this tribute to our fans of Kenny Baker's work, Star Wars and Odyssey will present a video of something in which I have been working for some time. Not intended to reveal it, but all these memories deserve a toast. May the force be with you!

Star Wars games for Videopac will be ever a mystery.

Ever? No, when I see that video. I really hope, this amazing looking game will be released someday in a galaxy not far away.

A dream would be come true, when I could play this game at home. A Star Wars cartridge in my Jopac – incredible.

Then will be the force finally also with Odyssey/Videopac/Jopac/Odyssey2!
